I'm so glad this series is great again, I really didn't like "Dexter in the Dark". I like the series on television and in the books, both are very different from the other. This book has Dexter and Rita, overworked and overwrought, with a newborn girl, Lily, and a too small house to fit everyone. Right from the beginning Dexter is still doing his moonlight murdering but for the first time Rita isn't as accepting as she used to be with his late nights. He, being the emotional robot he thinks he is, remains oblivious to the root of her suspicions. He continues along, missing the signs that she is a bomb about to explode on him. Meanwhile Dexter has a shadow, a bad guy who knows everything about him, even his killer hobby, while Dexter hasn't a clue as to his identity. I really liked this book, which makes two in a row from the author that I enjoyed immensely. Making the wait for the next one just that more excruciating.
