Oh, the joy of another series discovery! This one has tempted me for years with the covers so finally I began the Maggie O'Dell saga and I am hooked like a Marlin on a fishing rod, only I don't have to end up a meal on the dinner table later. The series begins with Maggie scarred literally and figuratively by the serial killer she captured, Albert Stuckey. She is sent to Nebraska to profile a kidnapper/killer of young boys and meets and tangles with the good looking playboy sheriff Nick Morelli. Maggie is stuck in a loveless marriage but even she is shocked by the force of her attraction with the lawman who is way over his head with this case. I like this series because in any other book you'd know right where the storyline with Nick was going, and it doesn't go there just for the sake of the reader. Maggie isn't your stereotype heroine who waits for the man when it's time to act, in fact, she gets in trouble for doing the exact opposite of that. I have been so hooked I've read one right after the other. Fly through each one so fast I haven't tracked down the next one and I'm just crushed when I have to wait!
